Stop Recording History and Start Making History

Stop Recording History and Start Making History

One of my favorite TV shows is Fringe.

It's on it's last season on FOX.  I'm sad, but I've enjoyed each season with them.

It's a great Sci-Fi series that features an FBI division [Fringe] that investigates the
unusual. I call it X Files on steroids.

In it's current season they are dealing with an invasion by The Observers, or Baldies,
as some people call them.

Somehow, these beings invaded the world.

They changed everything.

And they are dangerous because they can read your thoughts.

The last episode I saw was a story about a group of people these remnants of the
Fringe division found in Pennsylvania.

They had some kind of skin disease that disfigured their skin.

It kinda looked like tree bark.

The interesting thing about these people who were hidden away from
The Obervers is what they were doing.

Their "purpose" was to record history.

It was amazing.

They were recording all history all over the planet that took place since
The Baldies showed up.

The climax of last week's show took place when the main historian had to
make a difficult decision...  to continue doing what he was doing, or take a risk
and help the Fringe team save the world.

It's not everyday that you get to save the world!

The Recordist had to tell his son about the situation and that he might not make it
back home if he helped Dr. Bishop and friends.

But...

Here's what he had to say that made an impact on me ...

Sometimes you have to stop recording history and start making history.

That is a great thought!

I don't own or lease a DVR to record TV shows. It would be nice.

But if I had one here in my house I would probably waste my life away watching
TV shows and movies that I didn't have time to watch in the course of a week,
but suddenly now I have time to watch. I don't think so.

So, the bottom line of having a DVR is that you can record history.

History =============>>>>>>  the past.

Fringe got me to thinking again!

Yes, a TV show.

I love history, but I don't want to live in the past.

We really only have the present and all our decisions we make
from minute to minute determines our future.

So, for you, for me, the answer shall be:

Don't treat your life like a DVR.

Take ACTION.  Make something happen. Something better.

Make a better history in your
  • relationships
  • finances
  • spiritual life
  • business
  • education
