The Walking Dead Bites
Walkers...Biters...
Roamers...
Lurkers...
Whatever you call them they are the dead that come back "alive"
but they are really dead, but they still walk around and are hungry! Go figure.
Although I have never read any of the comic book series I am
hooked on the AMC Original Series.
How did it happen?
Well, we've got two stories here.
- How did the world go into this Zombie state
- How did I get addicted to this TV show
There have been Zombie movies since Night of the Living Dead.
I don't believe a definitive answer can be given as to "how" Zombies
came to be.
Some suggest a super powerful virus has invaded the atmosphere
and somehow brought these dead bodies back to walking, hungry
dead bodies!
In one of the episodes the group of survivors led by Rick Grimes
goes to the CDC in Atlanta.
The last remaining scientist shows the group a video of a test case
where a person dies, and minutes later is "alive."
The video is in an X-ray form so you can see inside the brain.
The test person was actually the scientist's wife!
Before Rick and the group escape the soon to be destroyed
CDC, the scientist whispers in Rick's ear.
It's revealed in a later episode that he told Rick that you don't
have to be bitten by a Zombie to get "infected." He said,
We are all infected.
The Walking Dead Bites!
Now, how did I get hooked on this show?
One Sunday afternoon I was just relaxing and watching TV
and came across this interesting show.
I thought it was some sci-fi movie that I had missed.
I believe it was a scene where Glenn was being used as
"bait" when Rick encountered another gang of survivors.
I continued watching.
I found out it was a Walking Dead marathon before the premiere
of Season Two.
Needless to say, I watched the remaining marathon episodes of
Season One and the Premiere of Season 2.
It was awesome. I loved it. I was hooked.
And now I'm into this latest season of shows and each one is amazing.
And if you don't get enough of Walking Dead you can watch Talking Dead,
another AMC Original Series that interviews the actors, directors, writers and
others of the Walking Dead.
Chris Hardwick hosts the Talking Dead. They discuss the various
aspects of the shows, including makeup and effects.
Right when you think you have things figured out the show will
take a twist.
I've been surprised that so many "key" characters have been killed off.
I guess the writers are following the course of the comic book series, but
I'm not sure.
One thing is for sure...
It's a Zombie world out there. Very dangerous.
The Walking Dead is really a soap opera with Zombies interrupting
the characters.
The question of morality, judgment, sin, the existence of God, good,
evil... it's all there!
I highly recommend The Walking Dead because...
