Just the Facts

Just the Facts

Dragnet.

It was a famous radio show [1949...] and then became a hit on television and even
made into a movie or two.

Produced by Jack Webb the shows tried to have realism about police work.

The narrator began the episodes with "The story you are about to hear is true; only the names have been changed to protect the innocent.")

While "Just the facts, ma'am" has come to be known as Dragnet's catchphrase (it has been copied and parodied many times by other productions), it was never actually uttered by Joe Friday. The closest lines were, "All we want are the facts, ma'am" and "All we know are the facts, ma'am".

But, thinking about that today, I wanted to share with you ...

Here is some great wisdom we got from Tony Rush this week.

SUCCESS TIP: Never, Never, NEVER affirm a thought of lack or scarcity.

I see people in the live video chat Monday night saying some of the most DISempowering stuff imaginable.

Like:
"I haven't made any money yet but, boy, I'm excited!"
"I've been in this for a few weeks and haven't made a dime. Someone help me!!!"
"I haven't made any sales but I'm never going to quit."

Blahhhh...right? Makes you want to vomit.

Why? Because it SERVES NO PURPOSE....and it's actually very negative!

And here's the funny (and weird) thing:

They actually think they're making positive statements! They think they're talking about their level of commitment.....but they apparently don't realize how disempowering that kind of thinking/talking actually is.

Here's a tip....

You don't get what you want in this business...you get what you ARE.

And it's not possible to affirm a lack of results.....and then turn around and expect to make powerful decisions and actions in your business.

Can't be done.

So when someone is cheerfully talking about how they're not making money, haven't made a sale and aren't getting results.......

....they're actually asking for more of the same. (And the worst thing is when it's done in the live chatroom during a live video event. Good lord! You can just imagine all their prospects seeing those comments and running to join someone else in the business.)

So, what's the solution?

Simple: never affirm a statement of lack privately, publicly or mentally.

The ONLY time you should ever say "I'm not getting results" is if you're in a private coaching conversation and you're prepared to tell your mentor EXACTLY what you've been doing so that s/he can tell you what to improve.

Other than that....no one should invest their time and language into telling people that they're not getting results.

==> Save your "struggle story" for AFTER you're successful when it will actually serve someone.

NOTE: This is not about "fake it til you make it". And if you read this post and thought that's what I was talking about, you missed the point. Read it again. :)

Fact #5 Empower Network is so much more than a business opportunity.
