I'm Thankful For...

I'm Thankful For...

November is the month of the year that  has Thanksgiving Day [in the USA].
I was thinking today how I should practice being more thankful.
So I decided to begin posting on Facebook one thing I'm thankful for each day in November.
And that's what I did.
My first post was similar to this:
There was a song written by Charles Naylor called, "I am the Lord's."
Today I am thankful that "I am the Lord's."
As I posted it on Facebook today I also challenged my friends and their friends to post something similar each day of November.
It was amazing what I read.
So many of my friends posted great things about what they were thankful for.
And there were many that posted on their own.
A lot of us were on the same wavelength because I saw a lot of people giving thanks and I'm sure they all didn't get a chance to read my post.

What were they thankful for?

Many said they were thankful for their family.
Others talked about God and his love and mercy.
We're going to all try and be faithful to write something everyday.
If you would like to join us, feel free.
Everyday write one thing you are thankful for.
You can post in on your favorite social media site.
Or on your web page.
Or just in an email and send it to your whole list of friends.
Here are some idea joggers to help you as you join in our celebration of Giving Thanks!

And there are so many more to say I'm Thankful For

I believe the most endearing things to be thankful for are not things at all, but the people in our lives that we care for.
The individuals who have impacted us and made a difference in our lives.
Those who have taken time to listen, to share, to communicate with us...
To put their hand on our shoulder...
To walk beside us...
To pray for us...
To love and not condemn us...
To give us grace and mercy instead of judgment and punishment...
Let's spend the month of November Giving Thanks everyday.
And then when November is over, let's keep it going.
Let's become a mighty army of thankful individuals.
Not because everything is going right with us, but because it's who we choose to be.
Thankful. Not whiners or complainers.  Thankful.
Here is one of my favorite portions of scripture from The Bible.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-19  (NKJV)16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Now you know that I'm Thankful For...
