How To Make Your Own Free Stock Images for Your Blog

Okay.  You have a blog, or you are wanting to start a blog.

You have great passion for something, or maybe many things.

You want to write about them all.

You also want to attract attention and get traffic to your blog.

What do you do next?

You need to add images to your content.

Free Stock Images

Images?

Yes, images.  Pics, photos, glossies, 8X10 and 5X7.

The old saying goes like this:

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Your words are powerful. Your blog is important to you.

Imagine joining the power of words with the power of an image.

But, you do a Google search on images and you find thousands
of great pics.

The trouble is the majority of the great pics that you like
are copyrighted.

Someone else created them and they own the rights to them.

Of course, if you have plenty of money you can purchase the
rights to some of these great images by paying the royalty fee.

And, there are many sites that offer royalty free images for you
to use, but you'll have to sign up for their web site, login, search,
and hope to find the image you want.

And what if you find an image you really love but it has a
watermark on it showing who owns it or the web site that
you downloaded it from.

Here's an idea.  Make your own!

Cashing In

Technology has made some great strides in recent years.

You can get a great digital camera made by Canon or Olympus
with 8, 10, 12 or 15 megapixels.

And the prices of all digital cameras are going down while the
quality increases.

Or if you have a smartphone you have a great built in digital camera.

OK. You've got a camera or a phone.  What next?

Keep it Simple.

You can get fancy flash cameras and tripods and great backdrops
to stage your shots.

But, remember the old saying:

Keep it simple, sunshine!

You can stage your shots anywhere.  Let me give you some examples
of what I have done for my own blog.

The coffee cup at the top of this blog is a pic I took in my
kitchen on the counter.

I needed the image of a cup for a blog I wrote about
spilling hot coffee on myself.  Read it here.

Here's a shot of a battery I needed.

Whatever you need an image of you can do it yourself.

Here are some ideas for you to use.
Objects:

• balls
• light bulb
• cash money
• blank check
• suitcase
• furniture
• computer

Nature

Oklahoma Sunset

• trees
• sunsets
• sunrise
• birds
• animals
• grass

So, really the sky is the limit!

If you go to the beach take pictures.

If you go on vacation, see a great
sunset, go to a ball game, see a new construction site...take a picture.

You take the shot, you own the image.

After you create your image you
can upload it to your blog and
save it there, or use a web source to store your pics.

Photobucket is a great solution and is free.

So, start taking more pictures.  There's not a better time
or a better way to enhance your blogs.
