A Dream is Nothing if You Don't Take Action

Joseph in the Bible had a dream.  Actually a few.
It got him in a lot of trouble with his family and others.

Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream. He spoke about it and
marched for it.

I had a dream.  An actual dream. Well... let me back up.

My grandfather had several guitars that he hung on his wall in his home.
He also played the harmonica, and maybe other instruments.

One day when I was a young teen he gave me a cornet, an accordian,
and a guitar.

Well, being a teenager what did I do with the stuff?

Blow on the cornet
a few times and put everything in the closet.

He even gave me a Mel Bay guitar instruction book [Level 1]

Well some time later, maybe a year or two, I was sleeping and minding my own business and I started dreaming. Here's my dream:

I dreamed I saw a friend of mine named Doris. I asked her
"Doris, will you tune my guitar for me?"

That was it.  I don't remember anything else about the dream.

But guess what happened?

I woke up the next day and I was sick.  So I stayed home from school. :)

Here's the amazing thing.  I remembered the dream.

I remembered the dream and decided to go get my old Sears & Roebuck Spanish guitar
and dust it off. Hey, I was sick.  What else was I to do?  Watch a black & white TV with 3 channels? [it was the 60's]

I also found the Mel Bay guitar book, opened it up and it showed me exactly how
to tune my guitar to my piano.

You see, I had played the piano since I was about 7 or so.  I had been playing about
7 years at this point.

So, I did what the book told me to do and I tuned my guitar!  Amazing!

And, I started teaching myself how to play the guitar.

A Dream is Nothing if You Don't Take Action

You can have the loftiest and grandest dreams.

They can be admirable and highly esteemed.

They can even be sincere, well meaning and beneficial to yourself and others.

But...

If you don't take ACTION, your dream will NOT become a reality.

What else can I say?

A dream is worth nothing until you take ACTION.

So...

Let's get serious.

• I have a dream to bless my church.
• I have a dream to bless others.
